76ers Acquire Tobias Harris Prior to NBA Trade Deadline
An alumnus of Elon University, Chris Maddaloni has served as owner of Atlantic Personnel, Inc., since 2009. A passionate sports fan, Chris Maddaloni enjoys following all professional teams in Philadelphia, including the 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
The NBA trade deadline was in early February, and the 76ers made arguably the biggest splash by acquiring Tobias Harris, Mike Scott, and Boban Marjanovic from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Landry Shamet, Mike Muscala, Wilson Chandler, and four draft picks. While Scott and Marjanovic are decent players capable of contributing to Philadelphia's goal of winning an NBA Championship, Harris is centerpiece of the trade.
A 26-year-old native of Islip, New York, Harris was selected 19th overall by the Charlotte Bobcats in the 2011 NBA Draft out of the University of Tennessee. He averaged 20.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists through 87 games with the Clippers and, through nine games with the 76ers since the trade, has averaged a career-best 21.7 points on 52.2 percent field goal shooting.
One of the best three-point shooters in the league, Harris made 295 shots with a 42 percent success rate from beyond the three-point line over the past two seasons. Only two players, Steph Curry and Buddy Hield, have made more shots from the same range at a higher percentage.
